Want to get an iPhone but still have months left on your current cell phone contract?

It's not that impossible to break the deal.

For all of those people who were lucky enough to get an iPhone went it went on sale June 29, there are thousands more who wanted one but couldn't get it because they were tied down to a cell phone contract. It's not cheap to break a cell phone agreement. The penalties for getting out of your cell phone deal depend on the cell phone company, but they can range from 150 to 250 dollars. But there is a way to get out of the deal for a lot less.

We found two sites. The first is Cell Trade USA. They can help you find someone else to take over your contract. You register on the site for free and post the phone and length of contract you have left (you must pay a fee to post). People who are willing to take over the remaining months on your cell phone contract log on to the site and get in touch with you. Once the two of you connect, you call a phone number and an operator helps you through the transfer process.

The other company is Cell Swapper. You post the details of your current cell phone contract on the site. You can also offer an incentive...like including the cell phone. And like Cell Trade, once you find someone willing to take over your contract, an operator helps you make the transfer.

There are two advantages. One, you don't pay an activation fee and two, you're getting a shorter contract.

OK, now you've gotten rid of your contract. What to do with the phone? Unless, that is, you included it as part of the deal with your contract? Cell for Cash and Rip Mobile will buy your phone, as long as it's in good working condition and it's a recent model (within the last couple of years).
